In my introductory post of MyGirlDress.com I shared all three girls in their new Eid gowns. MyGirlDress.com – One stop shopping for girls special occasions – Fabulous dresses at affordable prices. Dresses and gloves were provided for us free of charge for our honest review.
Here’s JuJu, my eldest daughter wearing a size 16 due to the length. JuJu was the one contacted by MyGirlDress.com to see if she’d sample their dresses and service. Once we starting researching the vast site, we were amazed that they had full-length gowns for tween/teen sizes that were modest and full-length. Although JuJu fits in petites and junior sizes, typically those gown are evening cocktail dresses or extremely revealing prom gowns. Not only did we find 1,2,3…MANY classy, elegant, feminine, modest gowns to pick from.
We actually picked up these gowns the day before Eid, since they contacted us the week of Eid. Fortunately, their warehouses are located in Los Angeles, so we enjoyed a family day trip and spent the last jummah prayer of Ramadan in a new masjid downtown. It was one of the most beautiful kutbaahs I heard in a long while and sob through the whole thing. Emotions always overcome me during Ramadan and our days of fasting.
Kind of like today…while we were in the best 10 nights of Ramadan then leading to Eid al-Fitr, we’re in the best 10 days of year leading to Eid al-Adha.
Anyways, since we didn’t have time to run to the tailors, JuJu and JoJo wore their gowns quite large last Eid. Subhanallah, we found a great seamstress last week, and took in nearly 3-inches of the whole dress. They actually wondered why we didn’t go for 1-2 sizes smaller, and when I motioned to our obvious fully-covered attire, she grinned in total agreement. 😉
Tip when ordering gowns at MyGirlDress.com: when in doubt of size, determine the inseam length to assure it fits and get it tailored to fit (not “fitted” of course). Do not opt for the girls’ “normal dress size”. Each of my girls got 2 sizes larger than what they normally wear.
By the way, the first picture–which we all think is one of the best. That was an unexpected accident of a click by my phone. When we saw it, we knew it’s be perfect for the review post…and now as I look at it, the clarity of the image is so amazing for a little mistaken click. SubhanAllah. 😉

Do you always make sure you and your kids wear their best clothes for Eid? This is the sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him. The rasul did not say “the newest”, “the most expensive”; he said “your best”. So, make sure it’s your kids best days and only celebration worth honoring but wearing their best and feeling their best!
