As you may recall, we’ve been huge fans of Omar Khawaja, the founder and co-owner of Little Big Kids. We shared his initial visions of his company back in 2011, hosted review and giveaway of what I believe to be one of their best products of all time: Allah Kids Wall Clocks (We own 2 blue space Allah clocks and 1 pink Allah clock), and couldn’t help but fall in love with the most adorable high-quality produced and animated video. So, it wasn’t a surprise at all that we’d equally enjoy and appreciate all the time, effort and expertise that went into writing and publishing Illyas and Duck – Search for Allah picture book.
Ilyas and Duck – Search for Allah picture book
As with all their products, the illustrations are vibrant and colorful. It has a book jacket that simply covers the high-gloss finished hard cover book. The quality of the paper chosen is superb, perfect for tiny grubby little hands who are eager to whip and turn any page at speeds faster than they can read. 😉
Ilyas is an adorable curious little boy who loves to explore. However, it’s his pal Duck (yes–his name is what kind of animal he his, a funny play of names) that challenges him to continue exploring to new places in search for his question “Do you know where we can fin Him (Allah)?”
Their adventures span as high as mountains and as low as the deep dark oceans, and they meet exotic animals through their journey.
We enjoyed meeting a Hoopoe (hoo-poo) sitting on a tree, and being reminded that it is mentioned in the Qur’an [27:20 and 27:22] at the end of the book in which each animal is written out pheonetically with a little description alongside its adorable profile images, as if they’re posing for your little one to admire.

Disclosure: We were given a copy of this picture book for our honest review. If you’ve been here long, you know I’m adamant against lying since it’s haram, and I have refused publishing dozens, if not 100s of reviews, simply because when I received the product (especially books) I was adamantly against the quality or message they portrayed.
